Biography
Background
Yvan Morin is a partner at our Ottawa office. He was called to the Bar in Ontario in 1985. Yvan received his law degree from the University of Ottawa, as well as his undergraduate degree in Business and Commerce. He practises in both official languages.
Areas of Practice
· Yvan's practice encompasses the full range of corporate and commercial law. His particular areas of specialization include mergers and acquisitions, secured lending transactions, and banking and insolvency.
· Yvan has particular industry experience in seniors residences and nursing homes.

Professional Experience
· Prior to joining the Firm in 2002, practised at several large law firms in Canada where he gained experience in general corporate and commercial law as well as banking and insolvency.
· Yvan has worked with all the major banks and other financial institutions in Canada, in addition to financing companies, trustees in bankruptcy and corporate clients. He has acted for a major pension fund in connection with its multiple acquisition of businesses across Canada.
Professional and Community Activities
· Member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Law Society of Upper Canada.
· Yvan has lectured at the Bar Admission Course Insolvency Section as well as at the Commercial Finance Association Conference held each year in the United States where he focused on cross-border lending transactions. In past years, he has lectured at the University of Ottawa in Business Law and Contracts.
· An involved member of the Ottawa community, Yvan served as both Vice-Chairman of the Board and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Sisters of Charity Health Service.
