Donald R. Cranston, Q.C. (Partner) admitted to bar, 1979, Alberta. Education: University of Manitoba (B.Comm., Hons., 1975; LL.B., 1978). Don Cranston is a member of the firm's partnership board and co-chair of the firm's commercial litigation practice group. His practice focuses on commercial litigation, medical and legal malpractice and disciplinary hearings, public administration law and alternative dispute resolution. Don regularly appears before the courts in Alberta and various administrative tribunals, and has appeared before the Tax Court of Canada, the Federal Courts and the Supreme Court of Canada. In 2008, Don was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. With membership limited to no more than one percent of the bar in any U.S. state or Canadian province and extended to individuals "who have mastered the art of advocacy and whose professional careers have been marked by the highest standards of ethical conduct, professionalism, civility and collegiality," the fellowship is considered one of the greatest honours for a litigation lawyer in North America. He currently serves on the Special Problems/Administration of Justice Committee (Canada).
